Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of gorace.co.za and the GoRace platform ("GoRace", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using GoRace, you agree to these Terms. If you are creating or managing a profile for a child, you agree to these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their compliance with them.

1. What GoRace is

GoRace is an information and discovery platform for school and club cycling. We list events, help you register or point you to the organiser's own entry platform, publish official results, and compute season rankings. GoRace is not the organiser of any event listed on the platform, unless explicitly stated. Each event is run by its own organiser (a school, club, or independent race organiser), who is responsible for the event itself — its safety, execution, entry fees, refunds, and any indemnity or rules you agree to when entering.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, and keep your identity number/passport number, contact details, and any child profiles you manage up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. GoRace is intended for use by adults; a child never creates their own account, and any profile for a child is created and controlled by their parent or guardian, who is responsible for its accuracy and for the child's participation in any event entered through it.

Roles beyond the default rider/parent account — club manager, event organiser — are granted only after an administrator approves a request; they are never self-assigned.

3. Assumption of risk — physical activity

Cycling and related events carry an inherent risk of injury, including serious injury, arising from the physical nature of the activity, road and trail conditions, traffic, weather, equipment, and the actions of other participants. By registering for an event through GoRace, you (or, for a child, their parent or guardian) acknowledge and accept this risk. GoRace does not supervise, marshal, or provide medical or safety cover at any event — that is the organiser's responsibility. Most organisers require you to sign a separate indemnity or waiver as a condition of entry; that agreement is between you and the organiser, not GoRace, and you should read it carefully before entering.

4. Event registration and payment

Where GoRace facilitates registration directly, you are entering into an agreement with the event's organiser, and GoRace acts only as a conduit for that entry. Where an event uses a third-party entry or payment platform (for example an organiser's own EFT details, or a service like EntryNinja or Yoco), any payment is made directly to the organiser or that platform, and is governed by their own terms — GoRace does not process or hold entry fees and is not responsible for refunds, cancellations, or payment disputes. Always confirm entry fees, cut-offs, and refund policy directly with the event organiser.

5. Results and rankings

We source results from event timing partners and organisers and match them to riders using automated name and license-number matching. We take reasonable care to keep results and rankings accurate, but we do not guarantee they are complete or error-free. If you spot an error in your or your child's results, contact us at support@gorace.co.za and we will investigate and correct it where appropriate.

6. Event organisers

If you submit an event for listing, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to submit it on the organiser's behalf. Submitting an event does not guarantee it will be published — GoRace reviews every submission and may approve, reject, or request changes to it before it goes live. Once approved and live, you remain responsible for keeping event details accurate and for the safe running of the event itself. GoRace may remove or amend a listing at any time, including for inaccurate, misleading, or unsafe content.

7. Club managers

If you manage a club on GoRace, you're responsible for approving membership requests appropriately and for any communication you send to club members through the platform. Club rosters and member data must only be used for legitimate club administration.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Provide false identity information, or attempt to create or use more than one account for the same person.
  • Submit false, misleading, or unauthorised event listings.
  • Attempt to circumvent race-number or license-eligibility rules for any series.
  • Access or attempt to access another user's account, or data you're not authorised to see.
  • Use the platform in any way that disrupts its operation or violates any applicable law.

9. Intellectual property

The GoRace name, logo, and platform software are owned by GoRace. Content you submit (event details, images, club information) remains yours, but by submitting it you grant GoRace a licence to display and use it on the platform for the purpose you submitted it.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

GoRace is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, GoRace disclaims liability for: the actions, safety measures, or omissions of any event organiser or third-party platform; injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in any event listed on the platform; and inaccuracies in results or event information sourced from organisers or timing partners. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under South African law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify GoRace against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your misuse of the platform, your breach of these Terms, or your participation in any event, except to the extent caused by GoRace's own negligence.

12. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, provides false information, or is used for fraudulent or unsafe conduct.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; continuing to use GoRace after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
